Panther Tires Race Report:
The 9th Annual JBRL Electric Series wrapped up Saturday Oct 20th at the world renowned Hot Rod Hobbies, the home track of the JBRL’s founder Jimmy Babcock. The series has grown in a big way with record numbers of racers all converging on the one day events. Each event being held at various tracks in and around the Socal area takes away the “local” track advantage that some larger races suffer from. This levels the playing field and rewards consistency.
Panther Tire factory pilot Justin Lew would wrap up both the 4wd Mod Buggy overall Title taking the overall win an entire race before the finals. Justin went between Rattler 2.0′s and Switch 2.0s rears depending on the track and stuck with Panther Bobcat fronts. In the 1/8 division Justin chose soft Raptors with orange closed cell foam because it was overcast and there was an off and on drizzle through the early afternoon for the final round. Justin would wrap up the title in 1/8 E buggy utilizing Panther Rattlers or Raptors depending on the track surface. Panther orange closed cell inserts were the insert of choice at each track.
In the highly competitive Pro 4 SC division it was none other than Panther Tire team driver Ryan Dunford. Ryan Dunford is well known as TLR’s Surface Product Manager and one of the main contributors to the Losi Ten Scte, the very truck used to win the JBRL Series! Ryan would choose the proven Panther Rattler SC’s in Super Soft compound at night and Soft compound during the day. Ryan relied on the super consistent Panther orange closed cell foam inserts with either compound. The final round would decide the JBRL Championship so the pressure was on. Ryan would take 2nd overall, enough to secure the overall JRBL Electric Title for himself and Panther Tires. Panther Tire teammate Doug “Casper” Nielsen would take 3rd overall in the series again proving Panther Tires have the consistency to win in the 4wd SC division any time, any track, anywhere!
