ImmersionRC has developed new hardware that uses the video frequency of racing drones to provide accurate lap timing for up to eight aircraft at once without need for an additional transponder. The new LapRF system was used in conjunction with LiveTime Scoring Engine at the MultiGP International Open this past weekend to record over 17,000 laps without issue.
After the remarkably successful event using LapRF and LiveTime Scoring Engine, ImmersionRC has selected LiveTime to be the exclusive distributor in North and South America.
LapRF uses a small device that mounts in a finishing gate, which is water-resistant to ward off rain and dew, and features a red-anodized case that reduces the chance of overheating in direct sunlight. The LapRF scoring base can be powered by any 3S or 4S LiPo pack, and external 12V AC wall outlet and Power-Over-Ethernet adapters are also available.
The LapRF system retails for $599 and can be purchased through www.livetimescoring.com/laprf/.
