Last weekend, Matrix Racing Tires hosted the Matrix Cup at Tom Racing Circuit in Hong Kong. The nitro on-road race drew competitors from all over Asia and Europe to the large asphalt course, including 2014 Worlds finalist JJ Wang and former world champions Robert Pietsch and Daniele Ielasi.
Riccardo Acciari, best known as a photographer for RedRC, cut together this video for Matrix that includes footage from the race as well as a glimpse into the production process for Matrix foam tires.
In the 1/8-scale class, Ielasi took advantage of an early collision between TQ Pietsch and a slower vehicle - which damaged the Germany's Lexan body - to speed off for the victory with Pietsch and Wang finishing second and third.
The 200mm touring car class was dominated by Japanese KM Racing driver Shinya Shimasaki, who set the fastest pace in qualifying and won the final.
