Upon waking up this morning I was greeted with what many people believe is a beautiful wintertime layer of snow, with elegant icicles hanging from the trees and windows, and winter feeling that brings the spirit of the holidays to those around us. To me, I personally see a thick bed of a white quick sand like substance that stops all fun outdoor activity (strapping a wheelchair to a sled is more painful than fun, so sledding doesn't count), the only thing icicles are good for is being the perfect murder weapon to melt away the evidence, and the only spirit that snow brings about is the angry spirit of those who have to dig me out of the snowbanks on my trip to work.
While on my journey into work I saw a truck pass by towing a trailer with a snowmobile on the back (a rare sight in Missouri). It got me thinking a little and I realized that just because it's snowing outside we shouldn't have to go indoors to race R/C. We need major manufacturer's to develop R/C snowmobiles instead!
A race-inspired and serious R/C snowmobile (not the ones from Toys R Us and Walmart) would be the perfect outdoor R/C activity for ALL different types of R/C enthusiasts with the use of only one vehicle!
For the true to scale rock crawling R/C enthusiasts you could equip your R/C snowmobile with a little driver, necessary camping gear, snow shovels, and possibly a dead deer action figure to give the feel of a winter wilderness hunting trip. For oval racers you could equip the snowmobile with a sprint car wing and option short ski on the front left. For onroad racers you change out the stock drive belt with an option ice/snow belt equipped with baby nails for crazy traction and speeds. For offroad racers you simply find a friend and stop at every snowplow pile you see, use an R/C snow plow machine to build a sick jump, and start racing. For large scale enthusiasts, you attach a plow to the front and make some extra cash snow plowing the neighbors driveways from inside the warmth of your truck.
This could be the ULTIMATE winter-time R/C vehicle and savior, replacing the wheelchair eating snow, murderous icicles, and angry tow truck with this...
