At the recent Dirt Nitro Challenge event hosted by The Fear Farm R/C in Phoenix, Arizona, we saw a wide range of new products. One product that stood out to me in particular was a prototype body spotted on the Hot Bodies D8 buggy of Ty Tessmann.
The new body was a prototype "Type-R" buggy body, and surprisingly enough resembled nothing of what we are used to seeing from major manufacturer's these days.
The new body is without a doubt stylish, however, it features a more "old school" appearance without such a dominant cab-forward design. The body took me back in time at first sight, and reminded me much of an original Pro-Line "Crowd Pleazer" body with updated lines and side pods.

As you can see, there are definite differences between the two, as the original "Crowd Pleazer" lacks the sharp edges, steep windshield design, and exaggerated side pods...BUT in comparison the "Type-R" looks far more like a "Crowd Pleazer" than it does a "Bulldog" cab forward body.
So here is my question...is this the beginning of the end for cab-forward bodies? Which style of body do you prefer more, old school or new school, and why?
