Team Associated Race Report:
This is the fifth year for the Thunder Jam Onroad Championships. The Thunder Jam has always been Southeast premier onroad event. This event draws a lot of racers due to the size of the track and is considered a warm-up to the Snowbirds in Orlando, since the layouts are similar.
Classes ranged from USVTA (4WD touring car chassis with Vintage Trans Am body) to 13.5 1:12 scale, with racers coming as far north as Pennsylvania, Illinois, Indiana, and from the Southeastern region including Alabama and Georgia.
Myron Kinnard decided to run his main classes USVTA and USGT (Grand Touring). With Friday practice behind us, the Saturday qualifiers was a show of shows. Racers were getting faster and faster all day and the traction was very good.
On Sunday they ran the last qualifier, and Myron positioned himself and his Team Associated TC6, with Reedy Wolfpack 5000 25C, in the TQ spot for VTA. He also ran the new Reedy 7000mAh 65C 7.4V Competition LiPo Battery in his other TC6/LRP SXX v2 to take TQ in USGT as well, by 2 laps.
As the mains came around, Kinnard was looking to get a clean start and make a run at the championship. In both classes his AE TC6's didn't let him down. Myron took the lead from the horn and never gave it up!
"The handling of the TC6.1 was second to none and allowed me to push the entire race. It was a great event and already on my calendar for next year." - Myron Kinnard
