CML Race Report:

Robin Hood Raceway – site of the soon to be opened RHR Dirt track – hosted the second round of the BRCA national series on their popular all astro-turf track at the weekend.

Drivers would have to set their cars up well to be fast on this demanding track with the combination of higher grip, short pile astro-turf and lower grip, longer pile astro-turf being used for the racing surface.

Pole position in the 2wd event went to Associated/CML driver Neil Cragg with his Reedy powered Centro C4.1. The Centro was the dominant car in the A final as joining Neil in the A final were fellow C4.1 drivers Paul Bradby, Ben Jemison, James Helliwell and Tom Yardy.

After a fine driving display to win the first two legs of the A final, Neil secured the win to take a maximum score for the weekend. Lee Martin took second place overall and a very happy Ben Jemison, also using Reedy power, finished the podium off in third place.

In the 4wd event Neil again was right on the pace with his Team Associated B44.1. After winning the first leg of the A final from second place on the grid some bad luck prevented him challenging in the remaining two legs but he still secured second place overall behind current Champion Lee Martin. Again Neil was joined in the A final by good friend and team-mate Paul Brady with his Reedy powered B44.1.
