Race Report by Team Associated:
Round 3 of the BRCA 1:10 Offroad National series headed south to the TORCH club’s venue in Titchfield. Factory driver Neil Cragg made the trek to the south of England seeking his third win in three starts with his Reedy-powered B44.2.
A top-10 finish in Saturday’s 2WD class was an excellent start to the weekend for Cragg. Modifications to the circuit for Sunday’s 4WD racing created a layout more suited to the faster 4WD buggies while still remaining challenging for the top drivers. The layout suited Neil well as he stormed to the fastest time in the first two rounds of qualifying. These results were good enough to earn Neil the pole position for the triple A-finals.
The first two A-final legs were hard fought between Neil and Lee Martin. In both races, Neil and Lee put on an exciting show running nose to tail without making contact. Ultimately Neil won out both times to secure the overall win and maximum points. With the pressure off in leg three, Neil led wire-to-wire to put an exclamation point on the meeting and extend his lead in the standings.
