Team Associated's Neil Cragg has recently swept the oOple.com "Invernational" electric off-road race in England. Associated released the following press release, but make sure you stay tuned to
oOple.com for their official race report, which we imagine will be coming soon.
Team Associated Race Report:
World famous and multi-talented Jimmy Storey and his oOple.com crew (yes, that's the correct spelling) have put together an event with more made-up words than any race should be allowed. The "oOple Invernational" was hosted this past weekend by RHR Dirt (or Robinhood Raceway) in the central part of England. On most people's radar at this time for the 2012 Summer Olympics, English racers looked for a reason to get away from the hustle of downtown London and instead convened in the heart of the island country.
Making the trip for Team Associated and Reedy was 2005 IFMAR 2WD World Champion and 2011 IFMAR 2WD World Championship Top Qualifier Neil Cragg. Well attended by fellow pro drivers and many club racers, the RHR facility was primed for a great event. In qualifying, Neil Cragg took his Reedy/LRP-powered Factory Team B4.1 and B44.1 to the double TQ positions. The main events went much like qualifying, with Neil's Team Associated vehicles getting a double victory.
Even though the event was a "race," it was really much more. With a live band, party atmosphere and screwballs keeping the atmosphere light, the event reminded so many of what RC is all about — having a good time with friends and a little friendly rivalry. A perfect English weekend...
Thanks to Jimmy Storey of oOple.com for the photos.
