NeoBuggy and DXR announce the 2014 Neo Race (with video)

 

NeoBuggy & DXR are pleased to officially announce the 2014 Neo Race, to which entry opens November 6th - known collectively as the "1/8 buggy Indoor Worlds" by those who attend the event year after year.

The 9th running of the Neo Race organized by NeoBuggy & DXR sees a welcome return to the regular Easter slot: April 18-21st; after last year’s event took place during the height of the British summer! The Agricultural University Harper Adams in Shropshire continues as the venue for the event, now returned to 4 days in length – running Friday - Monday. Once again the popular "Vampire Racing" sponsored 1/8 Electric buggy class returns – limited to 45 drivers, the main nitro buggy class is limited to 225 entries.

Qualifying will use 6 minute heats. After the success of the special one-off races in the past they return with a few additions; juniors final, oldies final, the Dash4Cash for the top qualifiers, Last Chance Qualifier – more details revealed soon.

An agricultural university located near Newport, Shropshire, The Neo Race uses the college’s indoor soil hall – the largest of its kind in Europe. Next door, the agricultural machine hall is transformed into the Neo pitting hall. The temporary track in its "race-ready" state exists for only four days, as soon as the event finishes demolition of the track, pitting area, race control, drivers stand etc begins, by the next morning everything is gone. The fact that the track only exists ‘for’ the race ensures a fair and level playing field for all drivers; no one having practiced on it and at an advantage – it is a true test of the driver. The organization team are able to keep the track consistent via daily watering schedules and sweeping of the racing line, weather is less of a factor than outdoor races as we race under roof and lights!
