The Avid RC B7 Aluminum Steering Bellcranks are crafted from 7075-T6 aluminum alloy, black anodized with silver edge highlights for a premium appearance. They feature a notched design to improve clearance when adding Ackermann shims. These aluminum bellcranks are designed for serious racers looking to eliminate flex in the steering system, delivering maximum steering feel.

Tips

  • Anyone who has raced AE 2WDs can attest to some design flaws in the steering system. The main issue is that the servo loses leverage when turning fully to the right because the servo link goes parallel with the bellcranks. This makes it difficult to achieve full right lock without sacrificing steering balance by adding more travel to the right than the left.
  • To help mitigate this—though it won’t completely fix the issue—you can run a 2mm shim in your servo link. This adjustment reduces some of the leverage on the left side, which has more than enough, and transfers it to the right.
  • Our second recommendation is to run the steering stop screws out past the caster block by 1.2mm. This prevents the servo link from going parallel with the bellcranks, a dead zone that disrupts the steering balance. 95% of racers won’t notice the steering loss, but if you do, we suggest adjusting your setup to compensate.
