For years the performance of our engines has been improving, sometimes by making small steps or sometimes with big leaps forward.
With increasing RPM and engines that are running as lean as possible to deliver the most power possible the temperature of the exhaust gas became quite high... a little to high for our exhaust gasket.
Our new NOVA engines that we launched for 2011 therefore have a different shaped exhaust channel which has no sharp corners, but that change required also a modification to the design of the exhaust gasket itself.
It has now a different 'internal' shape which allows for better contact with the carter, it also is made from a more heat resistant material.
All 3 modifications are made to improve the life such a little, but important, part of our high performing competition engines
