Press Release From Redcat Racing:
www.redcatracing.com
The MT-18 features a retro styled body that sits atop a chassis designed for cutting-edge performance. This truck may look retro, but it performs like a modern day monster truck. The MT-18 uses a low center of gravity chassis with durable aluminum chassis rails. The MT-18’s 2mm flat rail aluminum chassis provides a sturdy backbone for this little monster and allows the driver to set up the truck for racing or freestyle. Its front tilt body mounting system not only simplifies maintenance but also adds to its visual appeal.
The MT-18 is loaded with high-quality features, including ball bearings, hex drive hardware, aluminum-capped oil-filled shocks, metal telescoping center drive shafts, robust solid axles, front and rear gear differentials, metal CVA axles, and 7mm wheel hexes, ensuring reliable performance and ease of maintenance.
A Hexfly HX-M4K 4kg coreless metal-geared micro servo steers the MT-18’s massive chevron style monster truck tires with precision. This metal gear micro steering servo may be small, but it packs a punch. Servos like this are usually found on vehicles that have already been upgraded, but Redcat has decided to include it with the RTR MT-18, allowing this little monster truck to get the most out of its impressive steering angle.
Powering the MT-18 is a potent 58T 180-sized motor and a 2-in-1 RX/ESC combo. The receiver and ESC, which are built into a single compact unit, keep weight to a minimum and also maximize chassis real estate. This allows extra room for shifting weight bias with different electronic layouts. The included high quality 2.4Ghz radio system offers dual rates, channel reversing and trims for precision control. A conveniently placed three position selector switch can be set up for optional rear steering, if the user decides to convert the MT-18 to 4WS.
Out of the box, the MT-18 is set up for front wheel steering and, as previously mentioned, has a very impressive steering angle. For those who want to convert their mini monster truck to 4WS, Redcat has streamlined the process. Everything is included for the 4WS conversion except the rear steering servo. That’s right, everything else is already included and most of the components are already installed onto the truck. The only item the customer needs to acquire is a single micro servo and Redcat offers a direct drop in; the HX-M4K 4kg coreless metal gear micro servo and it’s only $14.99. Not only is it incredibly inexpensive to accomplish 4WS on the MT-18, it’s also incredibly easy.
The MT-18 is an extremely fun and very capable 1/18 monster truck right off the shelf. Redcat knows that customizing RC vehicles is a prized component of this incredible hobby, which is why they offer a complete line of optional performance parts for MT-18. You can customize your mini monster right away. These performance hop-up parts are available in different colors of aluminum and some are even available in brass. There are even diff lockers and a steel transmission gear set available for those who like to get gnarly.
