New Tekno RC ET48 2.0 1/8th Scale Electric Truggy Kit

At the Tekno RC HQ, one of our favorite classes is E-Truggy. Plenty of power, large truck tires, and loads of fun with friends. We brought E-Truggy to the masses with the original ET48 and refined it to be one of the best RC kits with the ET48.3.  Since the release in 2013, it has been the go-to kit for fun in the backyard as well as competition on the track. With the introduction of the EB/NB48 2.0 buggies, it was only a matter of time until all of the cool features would be incorporated into an all-new truck platform.

The ET48 2.0 shares many of the parts and groundbreaking design elements first introduced on the buggy. A primary goal of this project was to minimize the additional parts needed to help keep drivers on the track or bashing at their favorite spot. You will find that quite a few of the parts you already have will work on the new ET48 2.0.  This will reduce the number of items kept on hand as well as the monetary investment required to keep your truck running in top shape.

We carried over features first seen with the 2.0 buggies such as the industry-first suspension arms with built-in caster. This allows a longer overall arm length, ideal front-end geometry, and increased durability.  It has rear hubs that provide roll center adjustments by adjusting the axle height, and we carried over the innovative active rear toe system. A substantial amount of time was invested in developing the smoothest suspension package available to make the truck a breeze to drive in the roughest conditions. We also brought over the quick access differentials with increased volume that improve consistency and efficiency with minimal maintenance time. And naturally, it has the extreme toughness as well as the great handling that Tekno RC vehicles are known for.

Of course, we must mention the body.  Let’s face it, truggy performance has long suffered from excessive air getting trapped under heavy bodies.  So we did what we always do - we broke the mold.  The ET48 2.0 body has an industry-first exposed front shock tower design as well as a more truck-like appearance.  The body is lighter, creates more downforce for increased steering response, flies through the air with greater ease and closer resembles a full size vehicle. Finally, during testing, the body was found to last longer than "standard" truggy bodies.  Love it or hate it, we’ve never been afraid to push the boundaries of performance.
