Race Report by Kaja Novotny:

The 3rd round of Czech Nationals took place last weekend in Rychvald, Czech Republic on astroturf track. This was the 3rd surface in the series so far (carpet, dirt and now astro). For me, it was also comeback to racing after almost 5 weeks away due to exams at university and took me some time on Friday to get back to it!

On Friday, we had a free practice. I was more getting used to driving than setting the cars and so I did only few tweaks on my XB2, XB4 and XT2 and got them ready for the next day. However in the morning, track was flooded after heavy night rain. I thought we would go home and race would be cancelled, but most drivers voted to get racing. Local club did great job in preparing the track to be at least possible to drive on!

In 2wd, I decided to take my XB2D which I took just in case as a spare car and it was literally jackpot! While everybody else struggled to keep the car on the track, my Hobbywing powered XB2 on JConcepts Lockness/Swaggers was amazing and managed to lap almost whole field each run!

For finals, I worried Stand Up car could be not so good anymore as the track was getting drier, but with another light rain, I decided to stay with it. And it paid off, my XB2 managed to win A1 and A2! I sit out in A3 where it was battle for rest of the podium between Max Gotzl, David Krizak and Marek Schiller! In the end David took the win, which gave him 2nd place overall and Max completed the podium in 3rd!

In 4wd, I struggled with low traction, got 4th in Q1 with Max TQin that one. After some changes I got TQ in Q2, but David Krizak blasted in the last one and secured himself the overall TQ! I lined up 2nd and Max 3rd!

In finals, me and David had good fight whole 5 minutes in A1 and eventually I took the win! In A2, I did few errors and David pulled away! For A3, I did some more changes which made my XB4 on point and I took dominant win in the last final!

2.       David Krizak(TQ) – Serpent
3.       Max Gotzl – XRAY XB4

In Truck class, my XT2 on JConcepts tires handled the conditions quite well and TQed all three rounds and then took the win in A1 and A2 to secure the overall win ahead of XT2s of Max and Jaroslav Kopecky!

That was the 3rd round of Czech Nationals, hopefully weather stays good for the next one! Big thanks goes to my father for all the help, it was quite a busy day with running three classes, marshalling and keeping all three cars in good condition after driving each run in water! And of course big thanks to my parents and all my sponsors for their support!
