CML Race Report:
Round 5 & 6 of the CIWC saw another dominating performance from Olly Jefferies as once again he took his Associated TC6.1 to clean sweep of qualifying runs and A final wins at the Chippenham Indoor Winter Championship, this time Olly had to fight off a class entry and some very on form team mates.
Another full entry saw a class field of drivers that included Chris Grainger, Phil Chambers and Ayrton Anderson, like Olly these national names were looking to get some carpet running prior to the BRCA winter national which takes place early in 2013.
Right from the start Olly dominated proceedings lapping nearly all the field in all three rounds of qualifying, Phil Chambers was the only driver to come close to Olly and he lined up second for the A final eight seconds off Olly’s pace. Olly was not the only Associated driver going well, Olly’s team mate and pit man Chris Gunter would line up forth just behind Chris Granger with Associated academy graduate Kyle Gardener going well in fifth making it three TC6.1’s in the top five
Ben Putt made the long trip down for the meeting but this was his first run on carpet this season and was happy to get in some solid runs with his TC6.1, Ben improved his times during the day but suffered from a DNF in round one which put him on the back foot early on.

Olly checked out in round one and built up an early lead but behind it was Kyle that all eyes were on as he battled with Schumacher’s number one Chris Granger, Kyle came out on top to finish second behind Olly in leg one of the final, a great confidence boosting performance from one of the teams promising young guns.

Leg two of the final and once again Olly looked uncatchable, this time Kyle got caught up in a mid-field scrap, but now it was the turn of his team mate Chris Gunter to shine, running Olly’s set up on his TC6.1 Chris battled with Grainger and Chambers, Chris came home forth in leg two behind Olly, Chris Grainger and Phil Chambers .

A good showing by the team who are really getting the TC6.1 dialed in on carpet prior to the BRCA Winter National, preparations continue for the Winter National with team mate Alan Bickerstaff joining Olly for round three of the EWS series, this is at the venue that will host the winter national and has attracted a good quality entry of national drivers all looking to get some carpet running before hanging up their transmitters for the Christmas break.
