Clarke and Grey won at Island Nitro Series season opener

Island Nitro Series Off to a Banging start;

Sunday September 17, 2017 was the start of the Island Nitro Series (INS)season 8. The nitro race event featured 1:10 Touring and 1:8 GT Classeswith 2 rounds of qualifying and a 30 minutes mains. The rain came at theend of qualifying heat 1 but was not enough to have the race cancelled.After the rain, the event went on as scheduled with the 2nd set ofqualifying heats and the mains.

Denise Burton-Clarke who had experience issues during the last seasonstarted out this season with a win. She was able to hold off her closestrivals, Lascelles Ellis 2nd who also the Top Qualifier (TQ) for the classand Raffique Golaub in 3rd position.

The GT Class was snatched away by Douglas Grey after new comer Golaub tothe GT class walked away as the TQ. Grey went into the event this weekend,indicating that he will not be sparing anyone and will walk away as the GTKing. Well, Grey has made good on his promise and dominated the GT fieldwalking away with the top position. He finished ahead of Andre Blainein 2nd positionand Raffique Golaub in 3rd position.
