Arrowmax Asia Race Cup 2017 Shanghai, China Race 2 - Race report


It was a successful event once again for the 2017 Arrowmax Asia Cup Round #2 at Shanghai SYE raceway.  There are 3 classes at this event, 1/10 Modified Touring, Dash 13.5T Stock Touring and Dash 21.5T F1. Both Stock classes were using The Dash Lock Timing Spec motor. Since both winner of F1 and 13.5 class will receive a Plane ticket to AARC final, these 2 classes were the highlight of the show.  

In the Arrowmax Modifield class, Local young gun Jerry Dai was able to recover from the lack of qualifying run and able to take the overall win. Due to school and study, Jerry wasn’t able to compete in any of the qualifier but were able to make it at the final. Starting from the back of the grid, he was able win the last 2 main final and take the overall win for the class. Lin, the driver that finish 2nd on the last round had a close battle with Jerry, but during the last min of the 3rd final, he made an mistake and lost the battle. 3rd place finisher is  Chen Jia Run from Hangzhou.

  3. Chen Jia Run (China• Hangzhou)

Dash 13.5T Stock

In the Dash 13.5T stock class, Local driver PP was the man to beat taking the TQ of the event. With PP able to handle Lap traffic better than most, he was able to take advantage winning both final. 2nd place goes to winner of the 1st round Dai Qi and 3rd place goes to another local driver named CAI DAO.

  2. Dai Qi (China • Shanghai)
  3. CAI DAO (China • Shanghai)

In the Dash 21.5T F1 Class, Local driver Qian Min was lucky enough to just made it before the close of entrée, without much practice but his raw talent, he was able to get the TQ for the class. But this race was exciting to watch since USA driver Bob Peterson was able to put a lot of pressure, every Final was an epic battle, but in the end, Qian Min was able to handle the pressure and take home the win. In the meanwhile, Coach was able to take advantage of the mess and finish 2nd while the highlight of the battle cost Bob Peterson to finish 3rd due to flipping over at the 3rd final.

  2. Coach (China • Shanghai)
  3. Bob Peterson (USA)
