The 1st Annual Wallace Racing Challenge held at the World Famous Full Throttle RC Raceway has concluded and was a HUGE success! Over 65 drivers descended upon Kissimmee Florida for four intense days of Nitro R/C racing the weekend of April 12th – 14th, 2018. The weather was beautiful and the action on the track was HOT!

This race was unlike many others with $250 going to the top Non-sponsored driver in each class, $150 going to 2nd place and $100 going to third place. On Saturday a special announcement was made by Track Owner George Martinez that one of the Sponsors, Gamers Saloon was going to up the ante and provide $1000 to the winner of both 1/10th Sedan and 1/8th Open!! It was GAME TIME!!!!

GT8

In GT8 Paolo Morganti set a blistering TQ in Round #2 that would hold on through all rounds of qualifying. In the Mains Paolo Morganti in his IGT8 took off at the tone and left the rest of the field to battle behind him. There was a great battle on the track for second place between the Serpents of Fernando Medez, Jose Almonte and Angel Santiago and RC America’s Tim Caporal. These four drivers would battle it out for 25 minutes changing positions only during pit stops until with 4 minutes to go, Tim would lose a screw in his second gear and drop out.

Paolo would cruise to take the win with Fernando in second and Jose in third.

1/10th Sedan

1/10th Sedan was ACTION packed all weekend! DJ Apolaro would take the TQ position for Sedan and from the tone DJ had Eduardo Cabal hot on his heels. This would continue on for the entire race with DJ and Eduardo trading the lead during the race. Brian Thomas was in the third position and would fall back a bit but come back strong in the end. This race truly came down to whose pit man was fastest on the fuel gun. The action was hot and heavy in the pits especially with the additional $1000 Grand Prize that the winner of the race would receive! In the end DJ would cross the line in first with Eduardo second and Brian third. The Top three finished with just 3 seconds separating them!

1/8th Open

1/8th Open also known as the F1 of R/C was the Premier class of the weekend. The class was well represented and everyone was BLISTERING fast! Gianni Giorgio would take the TQ in 1/8th Open. In the main Gianni would get off to a good start but would run into mechanical issues only 12 laps into the race. This would lead Roniel Regalado, Walo Wlaker and Paolo Morganti to battle it out for the lead.

1/8th Open much like the 1/10th sedan race came down to pit strategy and fuel gun races! The action was hot in the pits. $1000 grand prize provided by Gamers Saloon was on the line and everyone was battling it out on the track for Top Honors. In the end Roniel Regalado would hold on to take the win with Walo Walker in 2nd and Paolo Morganti in 3rd.
