The 4th round of 1/8 Czech Nationals took place last weekend in Skripov. The track is known for its bumpy, technical layout with some unique features (and it always rains there). This year Nationals weren ´t any exception and Friday open practice was very soon cut because of rain …

In Saturday morning we arrived on a flooded track and everybody thought the race is done, but organisers decided we will go on. There I have to say 2 things – congrats on awesome job to make the track somehow possible to race on. However on the other side: what a crazy idea to race in tons of mud and sawdust – dejavu of 1/8E Euros in Croatia!

Qualifications were mainly decided by Q1 as some drivers decided to skip it while others went for it. In 1/8IC buggy Jiri Mara benefited from that and took the overall TQ! Behind him local star Ales Bidovsky finished 2ndand then XRAY trio of Martin, me and Max rounded up TOP 5!

In semi B I had rough start and fell down, but got quickly back on the 2nd place but couldn´t catch the winner – Ales! Semi A was affected by another rain and so times from that weren´t any close to ours.

In final, Martin Bayer, starting 4th, got quickly up front and pulled away to take his 3rd win in the series, congrats! Max Gotzl crossed the line 2nd and Ales Bidovsky completed the podium! Regarding my final, this was my worst final ever and I think I will keep that in mind for a long time, but in the end 4th was the best I could do.

In 1/8E Buggy, I TQed Q1, but Ales Bidovsky shined in Q2 and Q3 to take the overall TQ! In finals Ales continued in his dominance and took A1 and A2. A3 decided about the remaining podium spots with me finishing overall 2nd and Max 3rd!
