Race Report from IRCC – Indonesian R/C Car Community:

Indonesia R/C Car Community (IRCC) together with INFINITY World Champion Team as the Main Sponsor proudly present an International 1/8 Nitro Buggy event that was held in an In-Door Track that is located in central Java, Solo.  The Track is called Hobby Track Sukoharjo (HTS).  And the Track owner, Andry Sumampow, pampered all the racers with a fully Air Conditioned Paddock with Food Stall just around the corner for food and drinks.

The event was attended by Racers from several countries, including, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, and also from various provinces across Indonesia.  Some notable overseas Drivers are Naoto Matsukura (5 times IFMAR World Champion) and Kyle McBride (8 times Australian Champion and IFMAR WC Finalist) and Kenji Taira (INFINITY Team Principal)

The format of the race is run with 4 Qualifying Rounds and Bump up Finals. McBride got the opening round TQ, followed by Matsukura on the second round.  While Matsukura did not able to run the 3rd round, McBride easily snatch the second TQ.  But Matsukura got the TQ for the last round and able to get the Overall TQ position due to faster Qualification time consideration.

While the traction of the track is getting more and more slippery since the start of the race-day and also some spot bumps appeared, the developing surface condition only makes the Final races become more and more interesting.  Coming to the tone for the 45 minutes A-main final start, Naoto Matsukura lead the pack with McBride following ever closely while some cars got tangled together at the first double after the straight.  The 2 strongest Drivers, Naoto and McBride pulled away from the rest of the pack and up until about 30 minutes mark of the Race, Naoto able to pulled away from McBride.  And while Naoto got this race win in His hand, at 43 minutes mark, He made a mistake on the top left hand corner table top and flipped over His Car only got His engine flamed out.  With Naoto’s bad luck, McBride could took over the lead and got this one on His bag.  Stanley Wangsanegara got 3rd position after recovering from first corner start disaster dropping down to 14th place, while Chavit Saligupta came 4th after bump-up from B Final, and Edianto “Banana” Ong finished on 5th.

The Final Standing are as follow,
1. Kyle McBride
2. Naoto Matsukura (TQ)
3. Stanley Wangsanegara
4. Chavit Saligupta
5. Edianto “Banana” Ong
6. Kenji Liono
