IFMAR WORLDS: Balestri is Overall TQ

Dario Balestri has now become the overall TQ of the 2018 IFMAR IC Track World Championship. He took his 3rd TQ in round 5 of the event. Balestri is also only the 2nd driver to put in a 24 lap qualifying run. Serpent's Dominic Greiner would finish 2nd with a 23/7:00.147. Again commenting that traffic was an issue but not as big as the previous round. Shephard's Simon Kurzbuch would finish 3rd overall in the round from the 11th heat a full 2 seconds back from Greiner. Mugen's Robert Pietsch finished 4th also commented on the traffic in the 12th heat. Finally round 4 TQ Naoto Matsukura would finish 5th this round struggling from 2 19 second laps late in the run.

As we already know Balestri is the overall TQ so now drivers are setting themselves up to either make the super pole, or even just the semifinals. Qual points have now been adjusted to 3/5 rounds. 2nd place is Andy Moore with 4 points. Naoto Matsukura and Dominic Greiner are tied for 3rd and 4th with 7 points, and finally Simon Kurzbuch sits 5th with 14 points. Pietsch also commented that he will be driving as hard as possible just to make the superpole considering he sits 7th with 16 points.
