Race Report by Brady Anthes

The 2019 RCRA Tasmanian EP On-Road Titles where held at Goodwood model Park in Hobart. Track layout was tight to medium painted asphalt and slightly bumpy. The control tyre for this event was Volante 36R.

Friday practice was used to dial in the driver more than the car, the track required flow as apposed to the point to point that I'm used to. I used an asphalt base setup for my Xray T4 which had the perfect balance for me.

Saturday we had our 5 heats, 3 sets of control tyres where allocated for the 8 runs over the weekend so I opted to go with a single set for all heats, Q1 & Q3 where fairly scrappy from my side with mistakes in both. Q2, Q4 & Q5 I took advantage of of my starting positions to pace myseof around the other drivers instead of push, and it resulted in a much smoother run overall allowing me the overall TQ with 3 wins!

Sunday was time for 3x finals, through my lack of knowledge with onroad tyres I didn't road any of my new tyres which made the car very hard to drive for the first minute of my runs, once they came up the car was extremely fast, setting the lap record by 2 tenths in A3, A1 started smooth, but around 3 minutes in I clipped a cone and put the car on its lid putting me back to 2nd where I would finish.... A2 I got the win in a very close battle with Mike Mackenzie, A3 wasn't so close, both Mike and Lee had a battle early on slowing them down while my T4 was the best it had been all weekend. After the 6 minute run I was able to pull a 7 second lead and bring it home for the win!
