Race Report by Jake Mayo

This past weekend was round 2 of the JBRL nitro series at Thunder Alley Raceway. I showed up there on Friday to get some practice for Saturday’s racing. Both my XB8 and XB8e worked great all weekend on Ty Tessmann’s base setup. On Saturday we ran 1 round of qualifying and 2 mains for ebuggy and one main for nitro buggy. In ebuggy I was able to put in some good laps and qualify 3rd for the double a mains. In nitro buggy I flamed out with about 2 minutes to go which left me to start 9th on the grid. 

In the nitro buggy main I got a great start and was running 4th by lap one. My car felt great and was so easy to drive. I just kept it clean and was able to get to the lead. Once I got to lead I knew I just needed to put in clean laps and try and pull way from the field. After the 20 minute main I was able to come out with the win.
