The TriState Summer Oval Series rolled into Austintown Hobby on June 23 for the second round of the oval series. While its too early to be thinking points no one wants to get behind early so everyone was in house early to tune on their machines.

The Tour Truck field was thick and full of fast drivers, TQ went to Wayne Gerber who lead the field wire to wire to win the 125 lap A Main. Action behind him was closer with Keith Price taking second over new points leader Mike Moore Jr.

In Tour Car, Keith Price flexed his muscle in qualifying to take TQ over favorite John Lindquist. Once the horn sounded for the A Main, Lindquist jumped to the lead with Price in tow but Price never found the line that would let him regain the lead. Third was Mark Roberts who is in a neon car that everyone could see. Forth went to Billy Gerba who is back to running the black oval for the summer, his ride was prepared by Funny Farm Racing.

The Legends class had a newcomer to tour racing in Tim Bishop, Tim took TQ and the win over George Fetsko in a pink 37 Dodge Coupe and Duke Nuk’em Rogers. Rodgers is the current points leader.

Euro Truck class seen the Rogers Brothers have a tough time in qualifying and ended up starting third and forth on the grid but somehow at the start Duke went from 4th to 1st and his brother Dales was right behind him in 2nd. However midway into the race Duke made a mistake and it shuffled the field, in the end Mike Moore Jr who was TQ took the win.

The Mudboss class George Fetsko took his Mudboss to a domination TQ and followed it up with the win.  Mike Moore Jr was second in his rare class entry and Dale “The Reverend” Rodgers took the 3rd step on the podium.

Other winner for the event was John Lindquist in SK Likes followed by Rich Decker and Mark Roberts.

In RTC Ron Mick took the win over TQ Fetsko and Jason Moffett. The leaders in RTC traded traction rolls to keep the race interesting after each of them decided the ICE was faster than the carpet, in the end it cost Fetsko more and Mick was able to take the win.

Next up is the Firecracker Classic at The Gate in Brunswick Ohio.
