Sousa Dominates 2019 Quebec Classic

Race Report by Mark Sousa

This past weekend was the 6th Annual Quebec Classic and it was a great success. I ran Nitro Buggy, Truggy, and E-Buggy and all three of the my cars were great all weekend.

In round 1 I was able to TQ all three classes with solid runs. In Round 2 of E Buggy I had another great run and was able to lock down TQ after 2 Rounds. In truck I would have a flameout before the race started which cause me to DNF. In buggy I had a clean run with one bobble and was able to TQ that as well. Round 3 I decided to try some tires on E buggy and they weren’t as good as the ones I had which cause me to make a few mistakes and take 4th.

In Truck I had a clean run and was able to TQ the final round. In Buggy I crashed on the first lap but then started to put down consistent fast laps and was able to come back and win the round. Later that night the Bego Rc crew had a great feast at night with some roast pig with some vegetables and pasta and man was it tasty.

On main day the weather was great and was set to be a good day. I had made a few small changes as the track had a lot more grip and those changes were definitely a good idea lol. In Nitro Buggy my car was awesome and I was able to break away early and pull a comfortable lead. In unfortunately half way through the race I had a front clutch bell bearing go bad and I flamed out 3 times but luckily the Xray clutch bell has three bearings and is so durable and it was able to get me to the finish for the win.

I was able to win A1 and A2 of Ebuggy with Damian Lamy in 2nd both times with Sam Langer rounding out the podium.

In Truck I had a good start and would lead from beginning to end to take the win with Sam Langer second and Lucas Powers in 3rd.
