Since winning his first 4WD World Championship in 2003, there’s perhaps no one else in the world who has won more major electric off-road racing events than Ryan Cavalieri. Though he won the one-off Reedy Race in Japan in 2009, which wasn’t quite as well attended as the invitational event was before or since, Cav went winless in the first two years the Reedy Race returned to Southern California. Cavalieri earned the 2013 title by winning a tiebreaker over previous winner Dustin Evans, and joined Cliff Lett as the only two drivers to win back-to-back when he won again in 2014. Now looking for a record third victory in a row, the veteran pro driver who calls OCRC his home track showed up with pristinely prepared buggies that are almost too gorgeous to get dirty.
