The third round of Invitational 2WD competition was even better than the second, highlighted by two-time former champion Brian Kinwald leading the third heat! While the driver who led after turn one in the first two heats went on to win, the third race came down to a drag race down the short back straightaway between two of the best 2WD racers of the last few years.

Ryan Maifield took advantage of the inside starting spot on the front row and took off for an easy win by eight seconds over the madness happening behind him. The driver who started outside of Maifield, Hupo Honigl, crashed after the first corner on lap two and dropped to fourth, but Tanner Denney spun out before the triple and moved Honigl back to third while Denney slipped to sixth. Meanwhile, Spencer Rivkin drove from fourth on the grid to second and stayed there for the rest of the race. At the halfway mark, JP Richards tried to pass Honigl through the step-downs and the two collided, letting Neumann move up from fifth to third only briefly - he crashed over the triple just a few corners later and gave Hupo the spot back. Honigl crashed over the triple at the 3:15 mark and Steven Hartson, who had a terrible start from sixth on the grid and was ninth on lap two, got by along with Neumann. Hartson and Neumann swapped spots twice in the final laps with Hartson taking third over the German.
Kody Numedahl motored around Karri Salmela in the first turn to take the holeshot from the outside of row one. The first corner of the second lap was a disaster, and Ty Tessmann and Dustin Evans got through cleanly to take over second and third. Tessmann crashed over the triple with a minute to go, which promoted Evans and Carson Wernimont to second and third.

Michal Orlowski was the big story of heat three, holding off Travis Amezcua to take the holeshot and leading the first half of the race! Ryan Cavalieri started tenth and was in fifth by the end of lap one, then up to fourth one lap later. Tebo spun out at the end of the straightaway to start lap two and dropped to fifth, which stacked up Cavalieri and the rest of the field while Kinwald slipped by for third. At the 2:10 mark, Kinwald went wide through the infield after the triple and Tebo went by. Tebo crashed in the center of the track just past the halfway point gave Kinwald the lead, with Tebo and Amezcua trailing. Dakotah Phend passed Travis Amezcua at the end of the chicane with 1:15 to go, and on the following lap Kinwald spun out after the triple. Tebo passed Kinwald, and then Phend did the same through the chicane, setting up a battle over the final laps that ended in a drag race to the finish line.
