We were recently turned on to a new company joining the R/C industry known as RKW. While there are many small businesses and growing companies in the industry, RKW has released a line of new products that we felt could not be overlooked!
RKW offers a full line of pit accessories including pit boards, car stands, shock building stations, and more. All of these unique products feature stylish appearance, high quality materials, and most of all are very useful.
We wanted to know more about these products and had a moment to catch up with RKW's founder, Keith Whetsell, to give us a little background of how the company got started.
"I came from motocross/supermoto racing background two years ago into RC racing and began competing full time at it. I realized that with the frequency you have to tear down and repair an RC car, there was something lacking in pit products. All the local pros used really nice looking thin plastic boards painted to match their cars.
Some companies made black rubber mats with parts holders, but as far as I could find nobody made one that incorporated the two. As with many small businesses, mine was born out of a want for something unavailable so I made one for myself.
It got enough attention in the pits that I went ahead and made a bunch of them and started my website. With the pit board as my marquee item, I started adding new things or my own spin on other existing products to add to the catalog. Right now we have the pit board, car stand, and shock stands with more new products on the way," says Whetsell.
While wrenching on cars still may not be your favorite thing to do, the RKW line of pit products has made that frustrating task far less frustrating, and you will look good doing it!
