A news item posted Monday on ROAR's website indicated warnings given to five attendees of the IFMAR Off-Road Worlds in Pattaya, Thailand. As of press time no reason for the warnings, which were announced to the public rather than given only privately, were offered by ROAR though we understand that at least some of the issue stems from a few of the persons named not wearing the official ROAR t-shirt during the opening ceremonies at the Worlds (thereby breaking a regulation written in the ROAR rulebook), and there has been implication of "behavior detrimental to ROAR." We'll post more information as it becomes available, but until then here's the official press release:

From ROARRacing.com

ROAR will place the following members on a one year suspension warning status of membership due to conduct and violations of published rules at events attended in 2010. This warning status will be reviewed by the Executive Committee at varying times during the year of 2011. Should one more incident be investigated and found in violation, the member will be suspended from any ROAR competition for the term of one year from the date of violation.

Should questions arise from this announcement, contact the ROAR President via email only at president@roarracing.com.
