ROAR NATS: Maifield fastest in first round of Truck qualifying [VIDEO]

In what will be the only time the class will hit the track on Friday given the rain-adjusted schedule, Mugen Seiki's Ryan Maifield drove his REDS Racing-powered, JConcepts-equipped MBX7TR to the top spot in Q1 of Truck at Stateline RC Raceway. The run was a triumphant relief for the defending champion, who suffered issues in the first round of Buggy that knocked him far down the order.

Maifield was happy with the performance of his REDS Racing engine and a new development tire from JConcepts that helped him to the top of the charts. The Arizona native commented on the track's difficulty and how it would continue changing as the weekend wears on.

Ty Tessmann was second again, with a similar story to what happened in the Buggy class - happy with the performance of the car, but a first-lap crash cost him a chance at running for the TQ.

Tekno RC's Joe Bornhorst had a much cleaner run with his trusty NT48 than he did in the Buggy class, comfortably earning the third fastest time.
