ROAR NATS: Tessmann clinched Top Qualifier honors in Buggy with fastest time in final round [VIDEO]

XRAY's Ty Tessmann secured the only direct transfer spot to the 60-minute championship final and the overall TQ by driving his Pro-Line Racing-equipped and O.S. Speed-powered buggy to the the fastest time in the final round. The rest of the drivers will be split into Odd (3rd, 5th, 7th, etc.) and Even (2nd, 4th, 6th, etc.) ladders and grouped into 11-driver lower finals. Three drivers will bump into each lower final within the same ladder, for a 14-car grid, until the semifinals. The top six in each semifinal will transfer to the main event, along with the faster of the two seventh-place finishers from either race.

After the heat finished, the top three drivers all commented on just how gnarly the conditions were - and how difficult it will be to race longer than the five-minute qualifying heats. Tessmann was excited to be able to sit out the semifinals and instead use the practices to learn the track changes without pressure, while Team Associated teammates Ryan Cavalieri and defending champ Spencer Rivkin are both simply hoping for a clean run through the 30-minute semis for a chance to join Tessmann.
