Ronald Volker, PROTOform Mazdaspeed6 and ozite carpet continue to be an unbeatable combo in the ETS Series. The star German racer captured his 2nd straight round of the series in dramatic fashion this past weekend in Hrotovice, Czech Republic, reports RedRC.
Travel woes wreaked havoc for many top drivers due in inclement weather trying to get from Austria to Hrotovice, but once the racers settled in, some captivating racing took place. This was by no means an easy victory for Völker. Despite putting his Mazdaspeed6 on TQ, small mistakes in each of the first 2 A-Mains allowed fellow Germans Freddy Sudhoff and Marc Fischer, also driving Mazdaspeed6‘s, to capture victories.
It all came down to the 3rd and final A. Volker staved off Fischer throughout 5 tense minutes to take the title on a tiebreaker, overall total times from his top 2 runs. An exhausted Volker said it was a “special win”.
Next stop for the ETS is the picturesque Canary Islands round March 1-3.
