A Main Hobbies Race Report:
The JConcepts’ Summer Indoor Nationals attracted a sellout crowd at A Main Hobbies’ Outback Raceway. Now in its fourth year at Outback Raceway, the race had nearly 300 entries packing the indoor facility. Team Associated/ JConcepts’ top pros Ryan Maifield and Steve Hartson raced as well as AE’s team manager Brent Thielke. The man behind JConcepts, Jason Rouna, was also in attendance to make sure that his top drivers and national series were well represented.
Ryan Maifield showed why he is one of the world’s elite drivers. Maifield went on to top qualify and win all four of the classes he competed in –Mod 2WD Buggy, Mod 4WD Buggy, Mod Stadium Truck and Mod 2WD Short Course.
The only race he didn’t win was the “TQ Dash For Cash” that pitted all of the top qualifiers against one another in a “no rules” race without any turn marshals. A Main Hobbies’ own Curtis Door would take home the cash after taking out the competition.
The JConcepts’ Summer Indoor Nationals also showcased a track layout from Kevin Jelich, which featured some tricky jumps, a wall ride, and step-down. Jelich has been chosen by A Main Hobbies to build both tracks for the upcoming ROAR 1/10-scale Nationals, as well as the IFMAR 1/10-sacle World Championships— both races are being held at A Main Hobbies’ Silver Dollar R/C Raceway.
