Schuur Speed Select Series offers highest stock spec performance yet

While at last weekend’s Reedy International Touring Car Race of Champions, Schuur Speed founder Ron Schuur introduced the new limited edition Extreme SPEC V3 Signature Series SELECT motors that he is now hand-building to customer specifications. The highest range of motors offered by the motor marquee are built with the best rotors and stators set aside by Ron himself over the last year of building some of the fastest 17.5- and 13.5-turn motors on the market.

In addition to including top-shelf components, customers can choose from a variety of options - including silver, orange, or red-anodized end plates in addition to the standard blue. The gun metal-anodized cases feature Ron’s signature, indicating the special nature of the low-availability motors. Ceramic bearings may be fitted in place of the standard steel, customers can opt for a high-gauss rotor, and the range is available with both 17.5- and 13.5-turn stators.

Ron builds each motor to order, including cleaning and re-oiling the bearings so that they’re race-ready out of the box, with a form on his website including a special request field where customers may opt for additional services - such as electronically setting the timing to an exact figure rather than relying on the can’s hash marks.
