West Coast R/C Raceway, along with Team Losi Racing, is holding the second annual SuperCross series each weekend in January. The best 2-out-of-4 series began on January 2 with over 200 entrants converging on the La Mirada, California racing facility.
Ryan Cavalieri and Mike Truhe took home wins in the modified classes.
The folks at West Coast R/C Raceway did a write-up on the atmosphere of the event. It can be read below:
"The day started off at 9:30am with a waiting line of 60+ in front of West Coast Raceway. That's when Kevin Gahan, Mike Truhe, and the rest of Team Losi Racing (TLR) knew that this was going to be a long and fun day of racing. After a couple hours of practice and more and more bodies rolling in we knew that the 2nd annual SuperCross Series was going to be a huge hit.
Round 1 ended up with an astounding total of 231 entries. Bill Jeric of Losi in attendance and racing all he could see was waves of people populating the 33,000 sqft building and more and more families walking threw the door. The energy in the building was awesome with everyone have a great time. Even though it was a long day, Football was on all 6 of the plasma TV's and the two large projectors allowed everyone to know what race was being run. The West Coast Staff did an awesome job and supplied excellent customer service and kept the facility in great shape.
"I think West Coast has really proven the're on the map, and having the Reedy Race of Champions here was an awesome Idea". One team manager told us.
With a start time of 1pm and a total of 231 entries, it was going to be a late, late night. Jimmy Babcock ran a very efficient program and got everyone out of there at around 12:30am.
Our Local racer Jay P. was the big winner in the raffle and won the TLR22 which he will recieve as soon as the vehicle is available to public. Colby Poh won a RTR XXX SCT and there were 40 other prizes given out that most of the racers received something awesome. From shock oils, to ride height tools, to pit mats, it was a great raffle and guess what, it's happening again next Sunday January 9th for Round #2 of the TLR SuperCross Series"
