Race report from Serpent (by Paolo Morganti):
www.helionrc.com
Last weekend we had the Airtronics GP in Los Angeles. This time the track had a new layout which is longer and faster but also challenging and dangerous in some sections. The new layout is really fun to drive but requires to have the car with a lot of corner speed, not so easy to achieve sometimes in the GT without overheating the tires.
I have to say that my Cobra GT 3.0 was very good from the beginning and all had to do was improve a little bit the setup in order to find some more corner speed. The qualifier went really well, and after the 4 rounds I was on pole position.
The main final also went great. I had not a perfect start because I spin the tires a little bit and I lost the position in the first corner, but a few laps later I was able to gain it back and build a comfortable margin. From there I decided to not take too many risk and save the car and tires in order to try to finish. After a trouble free 30 minutes main, I was able to cross the finish line in first place.
I would like to thanks the LA Club and the people behind the event for organizing a good race. Special thanks goes out to the Dennett Family (Eric and Amie) for all the help and attentions and the Dennett Island neighbors for the good times.
Last but definitely not least, thank for my sponsors and their great support: Serpent, Desoto Racing, Picco, Matrix, Byron, Sanwa, Arrowmax, Avid, Xceed, JZRacing, Veytrex Lab, Blast RC
