So Cal Monster Trucks Series Finals Results

The So Cal Monster Trucks Racing Series invaded Hot Rod Hobbies dirt oval on December 1st. for the Winter Finals. 23 Trucks showed up to do battel in 2 events through the day. Many drivers running 2 trucks each. Only each driver’s highest point’s total truck was used in the overall finishing order.

There was 2 different race track layouts that were raced on. Practice was open for about a hour before qualifying would run on each layout.

The track layouts consisted of real monster truck racing track’s the first was a through back to the Louisville Motor Speedway figure 8 that Monster Trucks raced on from 1988-1992. The 2nd track layout was from from the Back to School Bash at the dirt track at the Charlotte motor speedway. They currently race on that is common at this venue is a Cross over track. With rach truck making a full lap around the track. Both tracks had there challenges and were a blast to race on.

Qualifying with 24 Trucks at the race if you qualified frist you got 32 points if you qualified 2nd. You got 31 point’s all the way to 24th. Qualifier got 11 point’s.

Trucks got points by where they qualified and where they finished in each race.  Every round you advanced you got 5 more points.

Freestyle ended the night off with 3 judges each scoring different parts of the run. One would judge momentum, one Air and the 3rd Wow factor “Crazy crash” ect. Each judge could give a high score of 10 points at the end of each truck’s run of 90 seconds.
