 The action begins here today at South Point Hotel and Casino for the 2018 Silver State Nitro Challenge. Here is what you can expect for this coming weekend. 

This is the innagural weekend that the Silver State event is hosted indoors. The South Point Hotel and Casino is home to the Priefert Pavilion which is used for anything from livestock to BMX racing and this weekend is home to two good sized RC tracks. The pavilion has a full bar and taco stand much to the delight of the racers. Most of the racers are staying in the hotel which makes for very little reason to leave the hotel complex at all. 

LiveRC will have live coverage of the event as well as timing and scoring all weekend. Check back periodically for round by round results and interviews. 

The track consists of signature large "The Dirt" style jumps and the dirt is reminicent of what is found at Revelation in California and has the potential to blow out much like Silver State's past. With no dedicated driver stand, racers are standing in the spectator stands in the center of the arena. Jimmy Babcock is on the mic with the JBRL crew to make sure things go smoothly for this four day event. All the usual top drivers from the major manufacturers are here in attendance plus a few semi-retired wild cards like Josh Wheeler and Taylor Peterson which should make for interesting racing.

The other major attraction of weekend besides the fact that the race is held in a casino in Las Vegas is that Monster Energy Supercross and Amsoil Arenacross are both holding events in Vegas this weekend. With 450+ entries spread out over four days racers should be able to catch all the supercross action they desire as well as getting to race all weekend.

The Schedule is as follows:
- Thursday: 2 Rounds of Seeding Practice (8AM-Finish)
- Friday: 2 Rounds of Qualifying (8AM-Finish)
- Saturday: 1 Round of Qualifying
- Saturday: Lower Mains
- Saturday: Drivers Social at the South Point Hotel (21+)
- Sunday: Upper Mains (8AM Until Completion) 
- Sunday: Awards Ceremony Following Mains
