With all of the debate, law suits, and heated discussions between the current United States sanctioning body, ROAR, and companies within the industry, we have received news of something we found to be quite interesting.

This afternoon we received the following email:

"Welcome to the Radio Control Racing Association of America (RCRAA). While it is a long name, it accurately represents the focus of the RCRAA in providing a non-biased sanctioning body for competitive racing. A new website is in the works as well as updating the facebook page. You are encouraged to hit 'like' on our facebook page to help spread the RCRAA to the entire RC community. Also if you want to email RCRAA you can send your questions, comments and concerns to: listen@rcraa.com

Here is the idea behind the RCRAA:

Create a more transparent governing organization that works for the racers with the manufacturers to develop a standard and specifications for racing and r/c in general. The mission is to develop racing programs to progress the sport of competitive r/c racing for the Americas, Canada and Mexico.

We will use third party independent labs to test and verify the manufactures follow the detailed specifications outlined in the rules. We will do our best to not have gray areas. We will listen to the racers concerns that support the hobby and develop a moving forward approach with manufactures to progress the hobby. Race programs will be run efficiently, on-time and non-biased.

It doesn't matter if a manufacturer owns a race track or a racer is a world champion, all races and racers will follow the same rules. We wont turn a blind eye just because they are a big supporter. We wont allow someone to bend a rule, while everyone behind them has to abide by it. We want racing to be fair for all. Racers, Manufacturers and onlookers.

We will provide various racing events in each state, as well as regional and national races. We are planning a partnership network to give your membership more value outside of just racing, such as discounts and promotions."

With little details and info, we investigated further by looking at the WHOIS database to see who is behind the site, however it appears that the registration info has been blocked.

So the real question now is who is behind the RCRAA? Could it be a manufacturer involved in the recent lawsuits? Could it be simply an individual looking to "stir the pot"? Is the RCRAA a potential threat to ROAR?

Stay tuned as we investigate further and bring you more on the RCRAA!
