Jared Tebo put in a brilliant run to kick off the first round of qualifying, winning his heat with a 16 lap run in 10:11.196 - and then was disqualified when his car went through post-race tech inspection and they flagged the body shell he had been running this week as illegal.
Jared was told that the additional vent holes cut on the left side of the body were illegal, and his run was nixed. However, Jared pointed out to IFMAR official Dallas Mathiesen the holes yesterday, particularly that they were marked holes on the production body, and received the okay. Jared and his team filed an official protest immediately, and the protest is still pending.
