For many years now I have watched and listened to all of the hype and hoopla throughout the rc community about these amazing events held on the east coast every year put on by RaceTime Entertainment. I will add I find it an amazing pleasure to be part of this Subculture that we call RC Racing. To some people this may just seem like young and old men playing with toy cars. To others this is a way of life almost an addiction. We are involved in a community of people who are loyal to their brands and strive to except that others have their favorite as well. Most of us appreciate all that this sport has to offer. We trust in our family and friends that surround us. We may only see these people once every couple of months and not speak with them in the interim. However, when the tone sounds, and we all meet up it is like we never lost a minute. Being surrounded by so many amazing souls that come to visit with a similar interest in mind is an amazing experience. To race these amazing creations at a highly competitive level and be in the moment for just a brief few minutes during our existence on this planet is a true blessing. The feeling is like no other. It can only be explained and expressed by physical actions on the drivers stand. Trying to explain the sensation of driving a rc car to those that have never had the privilege of driving one is unspeakable, unimaginable and certainly underappreciated in text. There truly are no words that completely describe the experience the sensation or the emotional rollercoaster that comes over us for 5 to 7 minutes in a qualifier and the 30 minutes that pass during a long main that feels like seconds. None the less we are at battle for those minutes in our life struggling between emotional connections every second. Weather it be mad over a slow marshal, another driver interrupting our 5 minutes of fame, the agony of defeat, and the absolute thrill of victory. After the name calling has stopped and the heart rate returns to normal our bodies once again become friends until the next race begins.
