CML Race Report:

Team Associated got down and dirty this past weekend at the Midlands Dirt Masters held at the Coventry Model Car Club. After the wash and a cancelation a fews weeks earlier due to the beautiful British weather the re-run wasn't quite as popular but was blessed with a beautiful weekend of sunshine.

Truman took up the early pace and secured a solid TQ pace right from the get go. Securing the 1 and only 10 lapper of the weekend wasn't enough for Teddy because he then went and pocketed himself a SWEET £60 in the Saturday evening dash-for-cash. Truman has noticeably picked up his pace since getting the 8.2 and running the new knuckles and caster blocks has further increased his confidence. Truman was in control whilst the others scrapped around to find their race pace. Eventually team mate Drescher managed to find his form and made it a AE 1, 2 in Qualifying after 6 rounds.
Tony Truman. Overall TQ and Dash for Cash winner.

Junior Team Boot Camp member Mitch Booth found his dirt form and put in some great qualifying runs to qualify as top junior and eventually finished in a hugely impressive 3rd Overall. Unfortunately Leon Goode's Transponder stopped working in the final pushing him way down the field on the computer when running in 3rd place on the track. Bad luck for Leon.

Mitchell Booth. Boot Camp Member and TOP Junior. Rocking out with his pink RC8.2.
The 1/8th final was a great race between Drescher and Sloppy. Never more than a few seconds separated the 2 for the whole 30minute final. It was Drescher who held his nerve to secure the win after a late last 5 attack from Graham who tried the last lap waffle stomp pass but was denied. Just 2 tenths across the line was the gap that separated the 2. A great fast clean race. Unfortunately Truman had some engine issues in the final which put pay to him challenging for the lead.

Overall Top 3 podium spots. Graham Alsop 3rd, Craig Drsecher 1st, Mitchell Booth 3rd.

Liam Galvin dominated the SC truck class with Monster Energy SC10 by taking TQ and the win. A great class to watch and one we all wish was more popular.

Meanwhile in the 1/8th Truggy class it was Michael Shorey who took a impressive win with his Team Associated RC8T. Awesome job.

A great weekend racing and Team Associated and CML Racing would like to thank all the Coventry Model Car Club crew, the sponsors and the guys that supported the race after the initial cancellation.
