Sin City has a new RC Race in town! At this past weekend's First Annual "Electric Buffet", The Vegas RC Raceway capped its entries at 300 as it teamed up with TLR and sponsors JConcepts, JBRL, Spektrum, Brushless Hobbies , MIP, RC Insider and RC Race Chat, running Friday practice, 3 prelims on Saturday, and finals on Sunday. The 100% clay track was slippery when wet, but mellowed in tack to a high bite finish. MIP debuted its new banners by the announcer trackside and at the podium.
MIP/Kevin Kimberly remarks on the dominance of MIP Realshocks.com Bypass1 Shock Pistons, "Just got done recovering from the Electric Buffet and with MIP on hand the Pro 4 class was crazy fast and of course Matt Olson was insane fast. Here is the kicker, 5 of the top 7 were using MIP pistons and one of the 5 only had the pistons the rest were full MIP. It was high bite clay on a small track and it was dominated by MIP not only in pro 4 but Matt took 2nd to Mike Truhe in Pro 2 SCT beating out other top names. Very impressive for sure." In addition to the pistons, MIP Pro4mance Chassis placed in every-other spot on the Pro 4 winners group between several TLR/Losi chassis and one lone Tekno chassis!
In Pro 4, Team Manager and factory driver Matt Olson drove his MIP Pro4mance Packed Losi SCTE to TQ and win! Matt reports, " I had a great time in Vegas at the Electric Buffet with Team MIP. My MIP Pro4mance/Tekin/JConcepts/TLR SCTE once again preformed flawlessly all weekend with the the fastest times all weekend long and the overall TQ and win!" MIP/Brandon Upshaw reports, "In Pro 4 I qualified 5th and finished 5th. All-in-all it was a great effort from a 3 month layoff from racing!" In his first time ever racing the Modified class in Pro2, MIP/Matt reports, "In my first Pro2 Modified SCT Race I ended up qualifying 5th and finishing 2nd behind TLR's Mike Truhe and just ahead of Kyosho's Cody Turner. My MIP/Tekin/Jconcepts/AE SC10 ran flawlessy and was equipped with the full line of MIP Products. Thanks so much to all my sponsors and great job Team MIP!" With Olson graduating to Pro 2 Modified, Factory Team MIP continues to dominate the Pro 2 Stock class as MIP/Brandon Upshaw takes the Victory running his Team Associated SC10 stacked with MIP Products for Team Associated ! The only racer completing 18 lap runs - Brandon Upshaw clocked his round 1 TQ by nearly a lap! MIP engineers Brandon and Eustace battled for qualifying leads with Brandon taking Rounds 1 & 2 and Eustace winning Round 3! MIP/Upshaw went on to take the win in the 7 minute main event by over 13 seconds! Brandon's SC10 ran MIP Bypass1 Pistons #12111, MIP Hard Coated Top Shaft #12156, MIP Ball Diff #9130, and MIP prototype Lite CVD’s #9128 (Still in development). MIP/Eustace Moore finished a respectable 4th in Pro 2 Stock running Kyosho Ultima SC and MIP's supporting Kyosho performance parts.
