Victory RC in LaOtto Indiana hosted round #2 of THE Series presented by PROLINE June 8-9. With lots of rain in the forecast (80% throughout the weekend) we still had a large crowd show up, 280 entries to be exact.  We had rain on Friday morning which delayed practice a few hours. Arriving back to the track Saturday morning we were met with more rain overnight. This ended up delaying the start by just over 2 hours. As soon as round one finished mother nature watered the track for us and only about an hour delay this time.  Half way thru round 2 we would get another 20 minute delay. The track crew led by Joe Laws and John Moore Jr. did a great job keeping us racing all day/night long.

With the mains starting, we always start off with THE Future Champions. At the start of the race TQ Mason Hughes would lead the first lap, after a pass by Alexa Latta on lap 2. Alexa would lead the reaming of the race and take her 1st win followed by Mason and Sweatpea Monaco.

Powder Puff would be up next: Team Fantom driver Kendre Girard would TQ and lead every lap and being the only lady to get 11 laps. Patti McElwee would end up 2nd and last rounds winner Adelle Max would take 3rd. We had a record amount of ladies show up for Powder Puff as well, a total of 18. 

After a bunch of lower mains and bump ups the next A main on the line would be 13.5 Stadium Truck. TQ Adam Rayls would get the short end of the stick during lap one. He would fall all the way down to 9th place. Adam would battle all the way back up and get caught at the line. All the while Josh Salewsky would take the lead on lap 3 and never look back for the win.  Adam would battle back to take 2nd and all the way from 7th on the grid Dustin Morr would take 3rd.  

4X4 Short Course was next, and when the final tone sounded young gun JJ Green would end up taking the top spot on the podium with TQ Tyler Heavener battle back from mid pack to take 2nd and from the 9th starting position Brian Trammel would end up 3rd.

Next up a New class the year 13.5 Wheeler, another young gun Devin Degood  sponsored by Trinity. Devin would start out 2nd and lead from tone to tone taking his 1st Victoty . All the way from 5th on the grid Adam would have a rough start and by lap 5 would be all the way up to 2nd and finish at that spot. TQ Josh Schroeder would also have a battle from a poor stat and grind his way all the way back up to a podium position and take 3rd.

RC Clubhouse sponsored Modified 4WD Buggy would be up next. Tekno/Trinity driver Mike Legue would battle it out with Richard Holtzman after swapping the lead back and forth many times. After the final tone Legue would end up with the win followed by Holtzman less than a second back and another 8 seconds back 3rd place would go to Jacob Reth.

Vintage 13.5 Buggy sponsored by Nankin Hobbies would not disappoint, with Team Associated/Reedy drivers Adam Rayls and Kris Norlock battling it out for most of the race. TQ Adam would take the lead early on and would slide down to 3rd giving the lead over to Norlock. Kris would lead the next 5 laps and would get tangled up with lapped traffic. Giving the lead back over to the winner Adam, while Kris would battle back and take 2nd and from 5th on the grid John Drawe would wind up 3rd.

Trinity driver Russ Bryant would take TQ in 13.5 2WD Short Course, and use it to his advantage by leading every lap and taking the win. Followed by Josh Salewsky and Dustin Morr in 3rd.

New this year is TIRE STACK TQ, which is $50 going to the TQ of the biggest class. Stock Buggy would be the biggest class again, and Josh Schroeder would once again take home the cash (50 $1 bills shoved into a tire stack can). Josh would make a mistake off the start and would give Roy ‘Rolo’ Dallier the lead. Rolo would lead for over half of the race, then he would make a mistake and Josh would battle back from 4th place and eventually take the win. Roy would end up second and all the way from mid pack ToeCutter would take 3rd.

Mod 2WD Buggy sponsored by Mod X was on the line and Tekno driver Mike Legue would take the win from his TQ position. Charlie ‘Chuckles’ Maiorana take home 2nd place along with the Hot Lap. Russ Bryant all the way from P5 would battle all the way back up and take 3rd.

Last but not least was the E8 Buggy class A Main. Once again it would be the Mike Legue show. Mike would take over the lead on lap one and cruise on too a 15 second win over Tyler Heavner, and Richard Holtzman would finish a close 3rd.  

We also gave out a bunch of raffle prizes from: BOCA Bearings, Maclan, Pit Boss, and Darkside Designs. 50/50 winner walked away with over $350. Thanks for all the racers that braved the weather forcast and hung out with us. Hope everyone got home safe after a late night with all the weather delays.  On to Sandpit in July.
