JQ Products Race Report:

The weekend of July 14th/15th was the time to come to Albertshofen, Germany, to race at the second round of the Nitromasters Series. Whilst the weather was rainy and windy, the club did everything in their power to make it a fun weekend and succeeded in the end, beating the weather-gods and surprising the contesters with a "special race" on Saturday evening.  The so called "handicap race" was a team-race where three drivers had to form a team and the would get an envelope with racing instructions. Jörg "Haui" Hauenstein, Christopher Schellein (borrowed from Team C) and Mervyn Müller formed a team, sending the new JQ Products Yellow Edition into the race. The rules were easy: Each team had to name two drivers who would share one transmitter (steering/throttle one person each) and put a marshall on the track. The two quickest drivers, namely Haui and Chrissi, were sent to the drivers stand and Mervyn marshaled for the team.

After a five minutes warm-up, the JQ team started from allotted P1 and proved, that the new Yellow Editions works perfectly with the manual's stock setup, which was installed in THECar. Being a second quicker than every other team in the race, they could afford to take their time at the obligatory position switch at the transmitter after ten minutes of racing. In the end they have been victorious with one lap advantage over the team ranked second. Both did a phenomenal job, cracking a 30.5 second lap-time in the dirt, which was not even achieved from all participants in the a main race on Sunday.

On Sunday, Haui took TQ honors with over 12 seconds ahead of P2, qualifying for the a main on second starting position. Being punted several times in the first two laps, Haui managed to have a great comeback from last position to finish on a very impressive 3rd position in the end. Mervyn missed the main by 2.5 seconds and finished 11th overall. All in all the first race with the new Yellow Edition went very well and the JQ drivers have been very happy with their cars.
