Whether you are building a new car, or simply working on your existing car, having a quality set of tools is important. Our friends at Hobby Pro USA hooked us up with a set of their all-new Groovy Grip tools to help in our build of an upcoming Thursday Testimonials kit.
The Groovy Grip line of tools feature hardened spring steel and diamond cut tips that are fit snug in a machine grooved handle. Each handle is clearly color coordinated and labeled with the sizes on a removable end cap. The tips are held in place with the use of a set screw in the handle, and are easily replaced if broken or damaged. The set includes a 1.5mm, 2.0mm, and 2.5mm hex wrench.
Pros:
- Hardened spring steel tips.
- Diamond cut for precise fit (no slop).
- Grooved handles provide good grip, yet don't hurt your hands like some.
- Handles are larger than some, and provide good leverage.
Cons:
- At this time, they are only available in the three metric sizes (1.5mm, 2.0mm, and 2.5mm).
- At this time there is not a matching socket set to complete your toolbox.
Conclusion:
The Hobby Pro USA Groovy Grip hex wrenches are quality built, economically priced, and perform very well. The hardened spring steel tips are very durable and strong, and the diamond cut tips prevent slippage and damage when tightening down hard on screws. These three wrenches are among our favorites and most comfortable to use, and with that being said we wish they were available in additional metric and standard sizes, and nut drivers.
