ProTek R/C "TakeCharge" USB Charging Adapter
$17.99
If you race R/C anything, we are 99.9% sure you have a battery of some sort laying around. How cool would it be if you could use those same batteries that run your R/C car to run devices like your tablet, laptop, and smartphone?! Well guess what, YOU CAN! We got our hands on one of the new Protek R/C "TakeCharge" USB adapters, which allows you to run and/or charge a variety of USB devices using almost any 2S to 4S LiPo/LiFe/LiIon battery! Simply plug a 2S, 3S or 4S lithium battery into the T-Style connector and this adapter will allow you to quickly and efficiently charge and operate your tablet, smart phone, camera and most other USB devices.
Now your probably wondering how it works exactly, and what keeps it from blowing up your iPad and/or killing your batteries? The "TakeCharge" has a built in 6V low voltage cut off which protects your batteries and equipment!
Pros:
- Charge and run nearly any USB device using your R/C batteries anywhere, anytime!
- Lightweight and compact for easy travel.
- Safety cutoff lets you use your batteries without a worry.
Cons:
- Does not work as well as a wall charger, but still cool for any R/C junkie's pit box.
Conclusion:
For the average person not involved in R/C cars, this is not an ideal item to have with you (unless for some odd reason you carry LiPo's in your back pocket). For the R/C enthusiast however, this is the ultimate gadget to have with you at the track. Never miss another LiveRC broadcast from the track because you forgot your wall charger at home!

Spektrum DX2E 2-Channel Radio System
$59.99
Spektrum is one of the originators of the 2.4ghz racing transmitter systems, and continues to be a leader in the industry today. For quite some time, 2.4ghz and quality radio systems came at a very high price. Today, entry level racers and/or backyard bashers can upgrade their RTR AM/FM radio system to a 2.4ghz system for as little as $59.99 with Spektrum's new DX2E.
The Spektrum DX2E, while not the "top of the line" Spektrum radio, has a good feel to it. It features interchangeable grips (sold separately), servo reversing, and easy to use trimming adjustments of the throttle and steering. Unfortunately the DX2E did not inherit the foam wheel of it's siblings, such as the DX2L. The plastic wheel gives the steering somewhat of an uncomfortable feel. The overall range of the system is good an comparable to that of the DX3S, which also uses the SR200 receiver. We compared the DX2E to a stock RTR 2.4ghz transmitter, and saw no significant improvements in our opinion.
Pros:
- Upgrade your RTR AM/FM radio to 2.4gHz for only $59.99.
- Similar overall feel to the DX2L and DX3S models.
- Good overall range for bigger tracks.
Cons:
- Plastic wheel is uncomfortable.
- Limited amount of adjustments.
Conclusion:
The Spektrum DX2E is a great choice of radio system IF you are an entry level driver or backyard basher looking to upgrade to 2.4gHz from an AM/FM radio system. If you already have a 2.4ghz radio system, chances are there is no major advantages or disadvantages to purchasing the DX2E. We recommend stepping up to one of the DX3 or DX4 models which offers 2.4ghz AND far more adjustment options instead.

Candy Crush Game
FREE
Every 6-8 months a new app or game seems to arise on the market in which EVERYONE has to try out. Whether it be Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Temple Run, Angry Birds, and the list goes on and on. The latest craze is a game called "Candy Crush." This is a game that the innovators went WAY out on a limb using their thinking caps, copied the legendary "Bejeweled" game, but replaced the jewels with pieces of candy...or at least what they think looks like candy.
The game features 300 levels...yes 300. Each of these levels is just as aggravating and irritating as the last. When you don't win a candy fairy / evil wizard floats on the screen and says LEVEL FAILED. If that doesn't make you angry, maybe it will when it says to "Eliminate all of the jelly on the screen to win." Look at the picture above, there is jelly on that screen according to the developers, so tell me which one is supposed to be jelly? If you guessed anything colorful, your wrong. After 500 attempts to "eliminate the jelly" I finally discovered the jelly is the gray, swirly, concrete-looking blocks. In what country does jelly look like concrete?!
Is this game worth your time...you tell me.
Pros:
- Blood pressure medicine sales are on the rise, as this game will instantly make your blood boil.
- Smartphone sales are also on the rise, as phones around the world are being shattered on the floor after a visit from the Candy Crush Failure Genie
- According to Candy Crush, next time make a peanut butter and concrete sandwich...as jelly and concrete are the same thing.
Cons:
- What about this game isn't a con?
Conclusion:
How do I really feel about Candy Crush? I hate it, I hate it with a passion. Why such a hatred you ask? Because after playing for 13 hours straight I've gained 16lbs from the candy cravings it has caused, the tips of my fingers are numb from sliding hot tamales and blue berry candy balls back and forth, and most of all I am stuck on level 4 of 300 and the failure wizard has dropped my self-esteem to an all-time low...
