Whether it's wheel nuts, wings, tools, tracks, trinkets and/or anything in between, the LiveRC staff gives their testimonial and review of each every Thursday morning!

For this week's Thursday Testimonials it is all about stock racing. Having just attended the nationals to run stock, I had to buy some parts and products specifically for stock racing that consumers probably wouldn't otherwise buy. The last one of these are the RC Speed Secrets Cut Gears for the Team Associated B6.1.

Product info:

$18.00

The RC Speed Secrets Cut Gear line was intended for high level 17.5 racing, as the reduction in friction and weight is key to success when limited on power. To be completely honest, I bought two sets assuming that one would break during the course of the weekend, but to my surprise, the gears stayed in perfect condition from the beginning of the weekend to the end as well as running the weekend before. I never even opened the second package.

  • Narrowed Gear Design
  • machined holes to decrese weight
  • Reduced electronic temps
  • Reduced motor fatigue
  • Comes in laydown and layback options

Pros:

  • Increased Acceleration and Performance
  • Cheap way to reduce rotating mass
  • Durable despite narrow design

Cons:

  • Won't last forever

Final Word:

I don't really think I need to sell anyone on these. For $18 as long as they last for a while, it is hard to beat the performance gain you get from the decrease in rotating mass. Highly recommend this especially if you run on dirt surfaces with a little more give than say carpet or turf.

Rating: 5/5
