Race Report by Team Associated:
Round 1 of the 2014 1:10 BRCA National Series ran under warm and sunny skies near Birmingham at the Kidderminster venue. The popular Astro-turf track is purpose-built for 1:10 buggies, which makes it the perfect venue to host the first round of the series.
Reedy/Team Associated factory driver Tom Yardy was the man to beat in the 2WD Modified Buggy class. Tom’s well-earned pole position start gave him the advantage he needed to hold off teammate Neil Cragg and always-fast Lee Martin for the overall win.
Cragg came back with a vengeance on Sunday to dominate the first two legs of the 4WD Modified Buggy A Main and take the win. Yardy just missed the podium with a respectable fourth-place finish.
Both drivers will now take a chance to re-group before heading to Round 2 at Southport in early May where they will both be keen to extend their early points lead and put even more pressure on their competition.
